Here at Soapstone Market we want to make your next event easy and memorable. Have some questions before you order? See below to find answers to our most commonly asked questions.

Question: How much should I order?
Answer: Depending on the number of guests, time of day, and type of event there are many factors to consider when placing a catering order. Use the following to help navigate our menu and decide on quantities.

For a buffet from our a la carte menu we recommend a total of 3/4 to 1 pound of food per person. Typically, we recommend half of the total order consisting of sides and half proteins. Example:

20 guest event
5 lb Arugula & Fennel Salad

3 lb Pesto Pasta
2 lb Roasted Fingerling Potatoes

5 lb  Roasted Salmon
5 lb Bistro Filet

Q: How soon before my event should I place my order?
A: The sooner the better! Unfortunately plans rarely work out the way we plan them. We ask that you place your order at least 48 hours before your plan on picking up. 

Q: What happens after I submit my order?
A: Your initial order will be reviewed by a member of our catering team. You will receive a quote within 24 hours. Recommendations may be made to adjust your quantities if we feel it is necessary. In that case we will also send you an updated quote.

Q: What if I need to cancel or move the time of my event?
A: If you have a change in your order, need to reschedule, or cancel your catering by emailing John Fielding at info@soapstonemarket.com as soon as possible. Cancellations within 48 hours will be refunded 50% of the order. Day of cancellations are non-refundable

Q: What is the minimum/maximum I can order?
A: We are able to accommodate parties up to 200 people. For parties greater than 200 people please contact John Fielding at info@soapstonemarket.com.

Q: When do I receive a quote?
A: Once our catering specialists has reviewed your order they will send you any recommendations and a quote within 24 hours.

Q: How and when do I pay?
A: Once you and a member of our team has confirmed your order you can pay with a credit card, check, or cash. Credit Card Payments can be made in-person at the store. Cash or check payments need to be made in person at Soapstone Market. No products will be made until payment is received. 

Q: Does it come hot or do I need to reheat it?
A: Food is packaged and ready to reheat.

Q: Do any utensils come with my catering?
A: They do not. We offer assorted paper goods and price accordingly as there are many variables. 

Q: Can I have it delivered?
A: Currently we deliver on an order by order basis, please contact John Fielding at info@soapstonemarket.com to discuss your delivery and catering needs.
